WITF, a non-profit community-based organization, uses media in public service. WITF is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission to operate the non-commercial broadcasting frequencies WITF-TV, WITF-FM and WYPM-FM. WITF also provides Educational Services and operates witf.org, Pennsylvania Public Radio (a statewide public radio service) and Media Solutions, a production services division. WITF Enterprises, a wholly owned for-profit subsidiary of WITF, operates Radio Pennsylvania, a statewide news network for commercial radio stations.

Financial Records
IRS Form 990 and Form 990-T filings
WITF operates on a July 1 – June 30 fiscal year. WITF’s financial statements are audited annually by a certified public accounting firm. Financial statements include a Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Activities, and Statement of Cash in Net Assets and Cash Flows, and should be read in conjunction with the Notes to Financial Statements.
The IRS Form 990, Return of Organization Exempt From Income Tax, is the annual federal information return filed by charitable organizations that are exempt from income tax. The amounts in these statements are presented in accordance with IRS regulations.
WITF engages in several activities that are unrelated to its charitable purpose. WITF pays income tax on any earnings derived from these activities with Form 990-T, the Exempt Organization Business Income Tax Return.
