Cooks Country Season 12 Begins August 26

  • Fred Vigeant

Cook’s Country features the best regional home cooking in the country and relies on the same practical, no-nonsense food approach that has made Cook’s Country magazine so successful. Cook’s Country is where family-friendly recipes from every corner of America are reimagined for home cooks everywhere.

In season 12, Cook’s Country uncovers blue-ribbon regional specialties from across the U.S. (Monroe County-Style Pork Chops, Chicago Thin-Crust Pizza, Texas Barbecue Brisket, Hawaiian-Style Fried Chicken, and more) and tackles classic American fare in need of a makeover (Crumb-Crusted Rack of Lamb, Coconut Cream Pie, and Lyonnaise Potatoes).

Jack Bishop challenges hosts Bridget Lancaster and Julia Collin Davison to live tastings of kitchen staples such as hot sauce, supermarket bacon, and potato chips, and Adam Ried reveals the test kitchen’s top choices for equipment, including coolers, electric knives, and toasters. Cook’s Country also features short documentary segments on the history of American food. Favorites explored include Shrimp Po’ Boys, Prosciutto Bread, and Blueberry Jam Cake.

Watch Cook’s Country on WITF every Monday at 1:30pm following America’s Test Kitchen.  More information on Cook’s Country…
