The Great American Read: Preview Screening at Midtown Scholar

Join book lovers of all ages for an advance screening of PBS’s highly anticipated television series The Great American Read. WITF, in partnership with Midtown Scholar Bookstore, invites you to this special preview screening that includes a peek at two special features produced by WITF–one highlighting the work of Pulitzer Prize winning Pennsylvania author John Updike and another profiling children’s book author Jean Craighead George. After the screening, stick around for a talk back session with local authors and professors.

“The Great American Read” is an eight-part television and online series designed to spark a national conversation about reading and the books that have inspired, moved, and shaped us. Hosted by Meredith Viera, the series premiere of “The Great American Read” will air on WITF TV September 11 at 8pm.
