(Gettysburg) — More than one active water rescues are being conducted in Adams County on Wednesday night, according to Warren Bladen, the county director of emergency services.
Bladen described the flooding in the western part of Adams County as “extensive.”
The Adams County 911 incident log listed water rescues in Hamiltonban and Menallen townships. Units were also assisting at a water rescue in Paradise Township in York County.
Prior to Wednesday, the county had not experienced many issues related to the rainy weather aside from some minor flooding, Bladen said.
An 18-year-old man, Alejandro Morales of Biglerville, was found dead along Conewago Creek on Wednesday. Morales was reported missing on Monday.
“Currently, what we’re dealing with is signficant flooding” Bladen said, adding that several roads in the western part of the county are being shut down.
County first responders are out on the scene addressing needs, Bladen said.
