(Harrisburg) — A search committee at Millersville University has narrowed its search for the college’s next president.

The university says five candidates have been selected for campus visits. Each visit includes an open forum with the candidate for the entire university community.

One candidate — Dr. Philip Way — is currently the Interim President of Slippery Rock University, another college in Pennsylvania’s state system.

The other finalists are:

· Dr. Mary Gowan, Dean and Kenneth R. Bartee Endowed Professor College of Business at James Madison University.
· Brian Rose, J.D., Vice President for Student Affairs at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton.
· Dr. Dione Somerville, Vice President for Student Affairs at Bloomsburg University.
· Dr. Daniel A. Wubah, Senior Advisor to the President at Washington and Lee University.

The names of two finalists will be chosen by the Council of Trustees and sent to the the Board of Governors for final consideration.

Millersville’s current president, Dr. John Anderson, announced he will retire at the end of June.
