Domestic violence nonprofit’s costs questioned
A state audit covering a two-year period reported that a domestic violence nonprofit made expenditures not permitted under its grant agreement, while the group disputed the findings.
The  Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence said the audit was misleading, according to a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report, and noted it did not find any issues with how it provides support to domestic violence victims statewide.
The audit, conducted by the Department of Human Services, covered July 1, 2013, to June 20, 2015. DHS said its Office of Social Programs should “consider the most appropriate method for continuing to distribute these grants,” the Post-Gazette reported. The costs questioned in the audit added up to $680,564.
