State Police say two midstate highway shootings aren’t linked
(Chambersburg) — State Police say two recent shooting incidents on midstate roadways are not linked.
A task force investigating a shooting in York County last Friday sees no connection between one less than 24 hours on Interstate 81 near the Maryland border.
Pennsylvania State Police say a highway shooting that left a state trooper dead in Kentucky isn’t connected either.

They renewed their plea to the public for help in solving the murder of Timothy Davison, who was driving on Interstate 81 on his way home to Maine when he was pursued and gunned down in Antrim Township.
“Despite no link being established at this time, members of the Pennsylvania State Police will continue to work with the Carroll Township Police Department in every way to assist them in apprehending the person or persons responsible for their incident,” says State Police Captain Steven Junkin.
Captain Junkin says there’s no indication the 28 year old Davison, killed early Saturday morning, did anything to provoke the shooter.
“We are issuing an advisory to all body shops and dealerships in the area to be on the lookout for a Ford Ranger with recent damage, seeking repair.”
He says the task force investigating the two incidents has looked at highway cameras and have reason to believe someone has information about the shooting.
Anonymous tips can be called in to 1-800-4-PA-TIPS.
Junkin says the task force is especially concentrated on West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.
