Farm Show staff brave the frigid air
(Harrisburg) — Staff at the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg are taking the bone-chilling temperatures in stride.
Parking employee Marian Davenport has been working the show for six years, and says it’s easily the coldest one yet.
“My tears are frozen into icicles,” she says. “I’m just shivering right now, I can hadly talk.”
But Davenport says she’s dressed in several layers from head to toe, and notes the Farm Show workers outdoors get plenty of support from inside the complex.
Farm Show Complex Executive Director Pat Kerwin says shelters have been added at off-site parking lots in response to the cold. He says shuttle buses have also been added to help decrease the wait times in the parking lots.
Kerwin is hopeful this week’s attendance numbers will improve with the weather.
