Task force created to probe road rage murder
(Chambersburg) — The FBI has joined in the search for the person or persons responsible for a fatal shooting along Interstate 81 in Franklin County, and investigators think it may be tied to a similar incident in the midstate.
Authorities are creating a task force to investigate the shooting death of a 28-year-old Maine man in an apparent case of road rage in Antrim Township.
Until the evidence proves otherwise, it will presume that Saturday morning’s fatal incident is related to another road rage shooting incident in York County, on Friday night, where no one was injured.
State Police warn the potential exists for similar incidents. Beyond the initial random encounter, they say Timothy Davison’s death was violent, deliberate and calculated.
Investigators are looking for the owner or operator of a Ford Ranger-style vehicle with damage to it. They also want to hear from anyone who was traveling I-81, near the Pennsylvania-Maryland border, early Saturday morning, who may have witnessed the shooting.
