May pick of the month: “Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opaite Epidemic” by Sam Quinones

It’s the WITF and Midtown Scholar Pick of the Month! May’s Pick teams up with the Transforming Health Summer Read project to select Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opaite Epidemic by acclaimed journalist Sam Quinones. Using Portsmouth, Ohio as a case study, Quinones details how the unfettered prescribing of pain medications, and an influx of heroin, is bringing communities to their knees.
